Fall Conference

The 2022 WMA Fall Conference “Mediation Ethics: Is Trust the Bridge We Use to Cross the Cultural Divide?”

Please mark Thursday, November 3rd  on your calendars as the date to attend this year’s conference.  It will happen from 8:30 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. (PDT) on ZOOM.

As always, the WMA Fall Conference will be a dynamic opportunity to learn, network, and collaborate with your fellow mediators. This time, from the comfort of your home, home office, or workspace! This year’s WMA Fall Conference brings into focus two concepts – the current thinking about ethics in mediation in our community as well as at the global level. And, because mediation does not occur in a vacuum, our speakers will also explore how ethics in mediation intersects with diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI).

At our afternoon “unconference” we can all dive deeper into these topics, exchange ideas with panelists who encounter DEI issues in their daily lives and discuss with our peers how we can integrate cultural differences into our everyday work as professional mediators. Then, from 3:30 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. unwind from our conference at our virtual BYOB cocktail party.

WMA is applying for approval of at least 4 CLE credits from the Washington State Bar Association under the category of “Ethics” and/or “Professional Development.”  Attendance at the Conference can also be applied to support your WMA certification application.

Tickets will be available in the months/weeks leading up to the conference
